School-Based Mental Health Services for Colorado Schools

The Secure Attachment Initiative partners with Colorado middle and high schools to bring qualified mental health clinicians directly to students. Our attachment-based, trauma-informed approach supports earlier intervention and helps reduce barriers such as transportation, cost, and difficulty leaving work for weekly appointments.

WHY SCHOOL-BASED CARE MATTERS

School-based therapy reaches young people in a familiar setting and strengthens coordination among clinicians, families, school counselors, teachers, and administrators. The goal is not simply to provide appointments—it is to build a reliable mental health safety net around students and families.

HOW SAI PARTNERS WITH SCHOOLS

Schools do not have to create or operate a clinical mental health program on their own. SAI works with school partners to develop a referral and service process that fits the school community while maintaining appropriate clinical care, family involvement, and communication.

A PROVEN FOUNDATION

During a seven-month school-based pilot, four SAI clinicians provided 124.5 hours of support. We are building on that experience through partnerships that connect Colorado students with clinical care where they already spend their days.
